2001 to 2004

• FUND RAISING GALA EVENING 2004 (29th October 2004)
  AMUR held a Fund Raising Gala Evening  in Moscow on at the Moscow Marriott Grand Hotel. The event included a concert by the Russian National Orchestra, an Art exhibition and auction.
  

• AMUR Moscow Half Marathon / 10km team (May 8, 2004)
  A team of Russian and international runners ran in the Moscow Half Marathon for AMUR. It was an incredibly hot day but the team had many supporters out on the banks of the river Moskva to give them drinks and shout support. Everyone work fantastic orange T-Shirts provided by the sponsor DTZ www.dtz.com .





• Russian Amur Tiger and Leopard Day                 (September 27 2003)
  Over 33 Zoos in Russia, Baltic countries, Europe and Central Asia took part in the special 2003 Amur Tiger and Leopard Day. The zoos held a whole range of events on that day including children's competitions, art exhibitions and lectures. This special Russian Amur Tiger and Leopard Day is part of a series of events during 2003 and 2004 as part of the EAZA Europe wide Tiger Campaign in European Zoos.




• Moscow Half Marathon (May 2003)
  This year's Moscow Half Marathon Team was sponsored by in May 2003 and raised over $2,000 for AMUR. Runners included old, young, Russian, British and Russian people - all of whom did a wonderful job raising money for AMUR.




• Gala Evening (January 31, 2003)
  The Moscow Marriot Grand Hotel and Good Housekeeping Magazine sponsored a fantastic Gala Evening in January 2003 to help raise money for AMUR. Children's paintings were auctioned and the Russian National Orchestra ensemble played enchanting music for the 200 guests. The evening raised money to help AMUR and the Russian National Orchestra's Magic of Music project for children in Moscow




• European Zoos Tiger Campaign 2003
  Most European zoos will be taking part in a special year of awareness about the tigers of the world. AMUR will be supporting this project in Russia. For more information about what is happening contact your local zoo.





• Tiger and Leopard Day at Moscow Zoo (September 2002) His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent attended this special tiger and leopard day at Moscow zoo with his wife Her Royal Highness Princess Michael of Kent. The aim of this big day of celebration was to bring to the attention of the many people visiting Moscow Zoo the desperate need for conservation of tigers and leopards in Russia. It was a wonderful atmosphere with competitions, theatre, dancing, face painting and workshops for children of all ages.





• Fantastic Marathon Team (May 2002)
  A team of over 75 runners, led again this year by the Former British Ambassador, Sir Roderic Lyne, ran in the Moscow Half Marathon in May. AMUR sponsor BP provided colourful T.Shirts, there was good press coverage and over $5,000 was raised for AMUR.



• Garden of Eden Art Exhibition (March 2002)
  The Russian artists from the Garden of Eden Group staged an exhibition for AMUR at the Central House of Artists in Moscow during the annual art fair in March 2002. It is the first time an animal conservation charity has been supported by this exhibition. Amur would like to thank the artists for this very special show; Irina Makoveeva, Dimitry Uspenski, Ramil Sherifsianov and Vadim Gorbatov. See ART page for more details on art and how to buy.



• Art Exhibitions
  Two exhibitions have been held at the British Embassy in Moscow in 2001 and 2002



• Art Donation to Darwin Museum (March 2002)
  The British artist Alexander Adams has donated a large painting of two Amur leopards fighting to the Russian State collection at the Darwin Museum in Moscow. The painting was presented to the Museum on behalf of Mr Adams by the Former British Ambassador, Sir Roderic Lyne, on March 4th 2002. For more information see NEWS section.



• Dinner for AMUR (February 2002)
  A dinner was held to promote the idea of conservation in the Moscow business community. MARRIOTT Grand Hotel provided a wonderful cake for the evening — made by Pastry Chef Wolfgang Wagenleitner.



• Land Rover Donate a Defender Vehicle (February 2002)
  Land Rover have donated a Defender to be used by the researchers working in the Russian Far East. It was handed over to Dr Dale Miquelle at a ceremony at the British Embassy in February 2002. For more information see NEWS section.
