About AMUR

AMUR is an Anglo-Russian charity, registered in both the UK and Russia, that contributes to conservation activities to save the Amur tigers and leopards from extinction.

AMUR was launched by the Former British Ambassador to Russia, Sir Roderic Lyne, at the British Embassy in May 2001 and since then AMUR has supported many field projects and has carried out awareness and education campaigns in Russia and Europe.

The Objectives of AMUR

  • to raise funds in the UK and Russia to further develop conservation activities in the Russian Far East
  • to promote a greater awareness in both Russia and the United Kingdom of the plight facing these big cats
