Fundraising NewsMARRIOTT GRAND GALAAt the end of January we finally held the Gala evening that had been postponed from October due to the terrorist crisis in Moscow. Postponing the event luckily did not dampen spirits on the night. 200 people attended the event which raised over $10,000. Sir Roderic Lyne, the British Ambassador, led an auction of children’s paintings and the Russian National Orchestra ensemble played an enchanting selection of music. AMUR would like to thank Valentina Starova of the Moscow Marriott Grand Hotel for organising the Gala Evening so well and Russian Good Housekeeping magazine and the Russian National Orchestra for their fantastic support. THANK YOU Thank you to everyone who has sent AMUR very generous donations this year. So far we have raised just over $50,000 towards our target for 2003 of $100,000. Please send donations by cheque made payable to AMUR. CHARLIE CROW HELPS AMUR The children’s costume supplier CHARLIE CROW are supporting AMUR with a donation from every tiger or leopard costume they sell.
